[Shotimes] 10 observations from the 1986 Taurus brochure

The 92's have the 91 non-directional wheels (mine even had non-SHO center
caps), some even have a unique rear fascia (no provision for the 93-95 SS
exhaust tips), and they have the gen1 rear vented discs (93-95 have the
solid rotors). The gen2 cars have a bit stiffer chassis as well. Also
the interior differences you mentioned.

All the gen2 cars vary a bit (except for 94/95) for nit-picky things, but
for the most part they are the same.

I have grown to like the look of the 92 without the spoiler, 90 and 91 are
the SHO's I probably "dislike" the most. I love the 89's (like the look of
the gen1 and simplicity), but to get the upgrades the 90/91 have (better
stereo, ABS, airbag, etc) I would rather have a gen2 (don't like the 90/91
dash, the leather falls apart, and I think the gen2 cars were screwed
together a bit better). 94/95 would be the years that interest me the most
for a daily driver.

'89 is my favorite though :) I drove my black 89 for about 6-7 months with
a stock interior, only had upgraded the suspension, and put in the 3.2L
drivetrain w/ bolt ons, along with the quaife. That car was a hoot to
drive, pratical and 14 flat in the 1/4.
