I just put 225/55-16 on my 97 SHO. I did the calculations and figured that 225/50 would be 2 mph off at 60 mph. (Car is going 58, speedometer says 60).
I bought Yokohama AVS DB S2 tires, which had a high rating on tirerack.com. In fact the AVS DB S2 had higher ratings in all categories than the AVS ES100 and AVS Sport.
