[Shotimes] Tires for convention/rest of the summer

I completely agree, and while I'm not so much concerned with
snow traction, (I rarely if ever take it out in snow 'cause
they salt the roads around here like a bad French chef) I am
caught in the rain fairly often and need a tire that can run
at highway speeds. With the T/A's I found myself in the right
lane doing 45 mph and still not in the kind of control I felt
comfortable with. Driving a SHO should never mean being in the
right lane. If I were ever to track this car, then I would
definately get a set of no compromise gumballs for that purpose.

Cheers, Bob

Getting all-season tires is always a compromise. These Contis, as well as
Pirellis, BFGs, and others are good, but do not work as well as a
summer-only type of tire compound. I used to run two sets of tires on my
'89, then I went back to all-seasons on one set of rims for the last couple
of SHOs, but I believe that I will return to two sets of rims for summer&
winter tires, as the summer-type of tread compounds just perform a bunch
better.....and have better wet traction than any all-season compound.
