I had this happen to me once after the dealership repaired the AC clutch.
When I brought it back to them, they told me one on the pressure switch
settings was incorrect.  So what would happen is the system would stay on
all the time and it would freeze up blocking the airflow.  When you turn the
car off and let it sit for a while, the ice block melts and allows the cold
air to flow again until it ices up again.
