    It's another one of those Ford things, I've seen '90 tranny's with fiber
rings.  Can't really find a clear cut time as to when the switched full
time, seems there was a period in between where they used either.

The case p/n's (and some internals) changed in '92 (F2xxxxx part number).
I've never seen a F2xxxx tranny with brass rings.  The E9 (used from '89-91)
I've seen with both.
