[Shotimes] Removing ext. door handles - Easiest method? ('89 SHO)

Hi all,

I am in the process of repainting my Project '89 completely including all the 
jambs, and the engine bay.

I am going to remove as much trim parts as I can to paint the car thoroughly. 
I was thinking to remove the door handles to paint them individually, as well 
as to get better paint coverage on the doors. 

What would be the best/easiest method on removing the factory rivets that 
hold the exterior door handles on? And to reinstall the handles without the 
rivets somehow?
