I went to the junkyard yesterday and got the stainless steel trim from a LX
to replace the rusty trim on my gen 1. I need to paint the stainless trim
black and was wondering what is the best way to prep the trim to accept
paint? I also noticed while removing the trim from the junkyard car that the
little plastic/metal nuts, that look like flowers before they open, which
hold the side panel on don't really seem to lend themselves to reuse. Should
I go to ford to get them or just use a washer and a nut from the hardware
store? If I should go to ford does anyone have the part number? The other
thing I would need are the plastic ring clips that hold the stainless trim
piece to the panel. Any Ford number for those?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
