Chris:
I just did the CID cam seal. Using all the advice from the list. Took about
1.5 hours going slow and cleaning things. My car is a ATX so some
differences. Some of the main points are:

Remove the cam sensor and it's Aluminum base.

I was told to remove two motor mount nuts and raise the engine by jacking on
the oil pan. I never could get the engine to move up any at all so just
changed the seal where the engine was.

Use a 2 inch sheet rock screw or something else with a real sharp tip and
threads. It's tough to pierce the seal but once it's started you will be
able to thread it in and pull it out. I used a pry bar against the
fenderwell. Put a spacer so the pry bar was close to the head of the screw.

To get the new seal in straight use a piece of pipe or a socket that goes
over the cam and fits the outside of the seal. Use a little grease and start
it by hand. Then use your pry bar again to force the seal in. It goes in
pretty easy when straight so use care here.
