[Shotimes] Rear Tokico's on backorder

I think I know why the sterring is/was acting funny in the 91.

Anyone remember how spent the brake fluid was that cam from my car in Tulsa?
Well in preparation of finding a leak of some type of fluid today on the 91
Fred and I pulled off the power steering cover to see if it was PS fluid.
Well it wasn't but what we found was black muddy (metallic) fluid. So black
that after filling up a Gatorade Bottle with it, it was totally burnt up and
would not let light through..
A complete flush and fill is in store tomorrow, with the addition of some
LUCAS rack treatment. But this made my brake fluid from the 97 look
transparent.

Also I got one of the ZF racks off of the burnt up Subframe today and will
compare it in a few pics tomorrow, hopefully it's the same and would bolt
right in. The Subframes look very close when looking at certain markings. I
know of one person that has tried to see if it would bolt in but has any one
already done this? This would make it very easy to add some better handling
to the Gen 1-2 SHO.

Regardless of how the Gen 3 ZF rack works or fits, aren't those relatively
rare pieces that are pretty pricey, even when used? They were only used on
the Gen 3 SHO, IIRC, so availability will be limited.

Although I don't much care for the VAPS setup on this '94 (although I guess
I could try to switch setup to deactivate it), the steering on my '95 was
good, and the Gen 1s had no VAPS. UDPs on a Gen 1 tighten it up a bit, also.

Another question on that '91+. If you have Eibachs, are the spotwelds cut,
and the car aligned to -1.2 to -2.0 camber in the front? On this '94, the
spotwelds were not cut with the Eibachs (don't know what the camber was set
at), and the steering was pretty funky & twitchy. Breaking the welds and
getting it to -1.5 helped a LOT.

Kirk,

When you adapt a Gen 3 ZF rack to a Gen 1/2 please add me to a list of ppl
you'll be doing that for ;-)
