But if you're a BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, Renault, and oh yes,
Ford, you certainly can pick your team based on brand. Sure these engines
have nothing to do with street cars, but you can root for a brand. That is
the new face of F1. Because a factory will partner with a specific team,
there are fewer top teams that can compete head to head. Any small team now
just has to work with last year's engine design. You can bet that Ferrari
would not allow themselves to be in a position to be beaten by Sauber. Same
for Jordan if they can get Mercedes engines next year.
