Wedige was trully awesome. When their supplier gave them the wrong compressor,
they called and asked if they could keep the car over the weekend since it was
apart. This was at 4:00pm on Friday. They close at 5:00. I was having my
starter problems on my SHO and told them I had to have the Saturn. They got it
back together and when I got the final bill, they didn't charge me extra.

Saturn of Gurnee, another in the family of Rohrman Dealerships, which I will
NEVER EVER visit again, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

They (Rohrman) saved themselves a BIG headache from me when they sold me a
car that was supposedly "Inspected" at their Gurnee Volkswagen dealership.
The very first warranty repair on the aftermarket warranty was denied by the
company because the car was never inspected and it was a pre-existing
condition. The dealer ate it, but never told me.

Then, 3 headgaskets later, and 45 days worth of lost car usage over the
course of 4 months, they fixed my coolant/oil problem by replacing my oil
cooler, something I had told them to do the FIRST time it was in.

I eventually got my money back for the first headgasket (others were covered
by warranty on the first replacement), but in the process I found the
documents about the vehicle never being inspected. When I demanded
compensation and proof of inspection, they talked me away (I was 21) until I
only got the $$$ for the initial head gasket. (~$1300).

So, anyway, had I been a little older and wiser, I'd have had them on NBC 5
"You ask, we report", or another local news station, or accepted a few grand
in hush money. I was young and foolish, and only got my compensation for the
initial unnecessary repair. I guess it's all I was after anyway, other than
those 45 days of lost time.

Anyway, my advice for anyone in Chicago and Northwest Indiana (and SE
Wisconsin) is to stay the HELL away from ANY Rohrman dealership and their
wares. I could go on for pages, but it'll only get my blood boiling, and I
don't need another heart attack this young in life.

So, um, yeah. That's my rant for the month. Thanks for opening the door,
Paul :)

p.s., Why are all the highest quality shops named things like "Wedgie",
"Rickety", or "Johnson Erection Services"? :)

Just thought you fellow SHOphiles would find this interesting. I would
recommend the shop that fixed it to anyone.

I guess all my cars hate me!

Here is an update. I took my car in to a local, highly recommended A/C
specialty shop last Friday. Got a call a couple of hours later. They
can't
even leak test the car! It seems that there is such a big hole in the
compressor that all the dye shoots out.

They ordered a new compressor and the wrong one came in. Anyhow, my other
car was having issues so they put the Saturn back together so I could
drive
it for the weekend. New compressor came in yesterday. Dropped car off
this
morning and by noon received a call that the car was now leak free and
blowing cold. Total charge, $519. It is a rebuilt compressor, new
accessory
drive belt, R134 and compressor oil.

What irritates me is that those jerks at Saturn were going to charge me
$1800 for a new evaporator and condenser and that wasn't the problem in
the
    1st place!

I will be writing the manager/owner a letter.

The good A/C shop is Wedige Automotive in Elkhorn, WI and the lying
Saturn
dealer is Saturn of Gurnee in Gurnee, IL.
