Exactly right. If one was serious about the best sound he would go to Radio
Shack and get the analog sound meter, for around $30-40 IIRC, and see which
connection gives the highest output. Otherwise its a crap shoot; many times
crossovers will invert one or both polarities and you would not be aware of
it.
