No, one 1100mcd leds from radioshack will not do the trick. You need maybe 15-30 of those to make it comparable to a MagLite. I'd recommend a one to three 1W Luxeon Lumileds or a 5W version. To those not familiar with Lumileds..this is the best of the best. Anyways.... I have been drewling over getting a Mag upgade kit that comes with electrical driver, small heat sink and socket. Do a search on yahoo.com for the string "mag luxeon" and you will see some reviews and "bolt on" kits. This will guarnteed impress the neighbur!
