[Shotimes] altenator problems

I have a 93 ATX, 3.2L and its eaten another altenator. The original lasted 
158k, now I just finished off another one tonight, 4th one in the last 12k 
miles. Bought 2 from the Zone, about 400 miles on both of those. they had a whining 
noise in both of those, then I got my money back and went to another parts 
store, that one lasted about 6000K, and the present one, I bought from Advanced 
Auto the 1st of April, and the battery light came on tonight. If I put a stick 
to it, it sounds like a bearing is roaring,grinding noise. Any ideas?. I'm 
about at wits end with this thing. I dont know if 
I'm just buying junk, or if there's another problem, I more willing to lean 
towards the 1st suggestion. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
