You're buying junk.  They are only being serviced, with not all parts being
replaced.  Shouldn't be the case, but it is, too many times.

Try a NAPA alternator.  My various ones last forever.  The best thing is to have
your original one rebuilt by a reputable rebuilder....that way you know the history.
