Sounds right.  Probably also why Gen 2s were snatching up all the Gen 1 rear
bars as an upgrade.  IIRC, when the 93 ATX was introduced, Ford specifically
called out the softer suspension for that version in the marketing brochure.

Now, 28mm size is a new one to me.  Where does this bar come from and are
they commonly available?

I believe the '94s had the difference in bars between the ATX & MTX....the
'95s are all bamboo fishing poles.

The front on my '94 looks like a 24mm, using the eyeball calibration method
against the bar I pulled off my '95. Dave & Kurt also had the 24/23 F/R bar
combo on their "93 & '94 (respectively) MTX cars. Fine with me, as I can
leave the front bar alone (which is the PITA to replace anyway) and just put
the 26mm bar in the rear.
