Well the pieces that we saw could not get by the valve, if it tried the
valve would show this. There are no markings on the valves, seats, and all
the guides are intact.

Something came from below the valves, somewhere somehow

Another thought is the TB butterfly screw though when I tried to take mine
out it stripped the screwdriver tip before I got it loose. My experience is
that a fairly heavy object can and will travel the intake to the cylinders.
Not much will make it past the reletively small opening of the valve without
holding it open long enouigh to bend the piss out of it. On the otherhand,
how could enough of the ring make it past the top land of the piston to
cause that much damage without much warning? The top of mine was pretty well
toasted yet it didn't pass the ring and it sounded like a cam sprocket for
about 100 milles then proceeded to make more of a bad rod bearing noise as
the cylinder dried out after the rings welded to the piston.

piece that I found; look to be stamped and have an edge on them. AL fitz and
a few others have seen the v6 break up and throw rings up into the cyl, So
maybe my last thought wasnbt so bad.. Wont really know until I rib the
block down and see.
