With the key off, jumper the lead with only one connector to the "signal return" pin as shown on the diagram in the FAQ. Go sit in the driver's seat with a pencil & paper and either turn the ignition switch to on (KOEO) or start the car (KOER.) The test will start by itself and after a minute, will start flashing your CE light.

Hey all,

I'm trying to do this self test for the first time. I have found the 6
way connector and two one pin connectors. One pin connector #1 disables
my tach and one pin connector #2 engages my fan and disables my check
engine light. Hooking the wire to either pin doesn't seem to be working.
First, any suggestions as to which pin I am supposed to use and second,
is there anything to do besides just turning the key on. I read the
article and SHO Times FAQ's but I am just looking for verification as
neither of the two pins seems to run the test.

TIA
