The super 33 will work... but not as nicely as some other methods. When I
redo a headliner for work, (I install sunroofs) I use a top adhesive sprayed
using a siphon feed paint gun on a air compressor. Formica adhesive also works
nicely too. When u redo your headliner, since you've never done one, or only
done a few, do it in two parts. Do the front half and then the back half.
Spray the headliner board thoroughly and the cloth, not just blotches here and
there. Start in the center and work your way to the edges pulling the headliner
with one hand and keeping tension and laying down the headliner material to
the board. If you start to get wrinkles, pull it back up gently and stretch it
a little to lay it down with no rinkles. Yes, its possible to lay it down
with no wrinkles anywhere on the headliner although sometimes seems impossible.
Afyer you do the first half, repeat the process on the second half. After
you got it all layed down, flip the headliner over to the backside, spray along
all the outer edges and pull the headliner around the edge and over. This
will give you a clean look on the outer edges of the headliner. Spray around any
holes in the headliner (domelights, sunroofs, etc.) cut headliner material
out and pull it over to wrap the holes and toss it back in the car.
This is a quick rundown of how to wrap a headliner.. one of these days I need
to do a good how-to with pix for shotimes.com.... maybe next headliner I
recover... :)
