I've got to agreed with the soul thing. The first time I drove Steve's
Max I found it very boring, compared to the SHO, but it was fun to
drive. My SHO had a MAF and full suspension at the time compared to the
stock Max. Now that Steve is starting to pile on the mods, that cars
soul is definitely coming through. I seriously thought about buying a
Max instead of my current SHO, but with the mods that I already had for
the SHO, I couldn't justify not getting another one. I drove Steve's
car all around Philadelphia, both in the city and the suburbs about 2
weeks ago. That car is very fun to drive, and as I found out on the way
to see Mark N. a few months back, Steve and I are dead even from a 60mph
roll to 110+. His 1/4 times are also just as good as stock and mildly
modded SHOs. His car looks good, handles well, sounds good, and is
quick. All the things that to me, make up soul of a car. The only
thing I would change on that car is the awful rubbery, 2' tall shift
lever.

Ditto on soul. Everyone has a different opinion of soul, but I have a
feeling that people equate noise (hearing the engine, etc) to soul. If
you want to hear the engine on any car, add a simple intake with a cone
filter. I think that my friend Steve's 97 SE with full suspension,
intake, exhaust, brakes, wheels, tires, etc has a LOT of soul.
