JB,

If you haven't visited there yet, go to www.cardone.ccom and register in the
PRO-Tech section. You will then have access to all their tech tips which
should save you a lot of trouble if you follow them....

Subject: [Shotimes] Power Steering Fill

> Hello all,
> Well, I'm finally to the point after a night of cursing and screaming that
I should be able to finish my power steering pump this evening. I don't
think that I have ever worked so hard on getting a nut loose in all my life.
This was for the pressure line nut. What a pain in the Ass! There's no
room and that thing was on there tighter than I don't know what. I ended up
laying across the engine to get enough leverage. I hope to God that I never
come across something like that again. Anyway, I digress. The reason for
this post is that I am seeking advice on how to fill the pump and cycle out
the air and the old contaminates. The Helms says to disconnect the ignition
coil and pump it with the starter but that seems like it would be unhealthy
for the starter. Any ideas? Also, and not to start a debate, but what's
the best replacement fluid? I have a bunch of cheap stuff as I was going to
attempt to flush the system someday but now, I might as well get something
perman!
> ent. I welcome any and all suggestions. Thanks again!
