[Shotimes] clutch opinions wanted

I think that a lot of people fall for a really common lie. Don't ever
ask a mechanic if they have worked on an SHO before. If he is still in
business, he is going to say "yeah, I see them all the time". I think
that this develops a blind trust in the mechanic and gives the customer
a false peace of mind. The mechanic knows this and is happy to take the
business. I do not claim that all mechanics lie, but I think that people
should be aware that this happens a lot. This isn't really in response
to anything that you said Mike, but it relates to the situation and
similar situations that people have wrt to their SHO's.

You'd think that any shop familiar with fwd clutches could do the work
on the SHO without a problem. It's all "basically" the same. I'm sure
others will disagree though.

I'm in the same boat, except I was planning on taking the parts to
Tijuana and having a shop I know do it. Not a problem with warranty,
only time
and
trouble involved. Is there anything more involved in the SHO clutch
than other clutches they may be familiar with? I remember in the
distant past changing trannys/clutches, not fun. Can the SHO unit be
done by one
person?
I can build the wood mount for the top, but how about actually dropping
and
worse, installing the tranny alone?
Mike
