[Shotimes] VIN

I have a problem. Ford can't find my VIN. I took my
SHO to the local dealer after having problems finding
the last part I needed, and after they looked up the
part, the "Service Manager" (aka Idiot 1st Class)
decided to look up my VIN. The computer told him the
car didn't exist. Um...so my question is (are)....

#1 Why did he look up the VIN (the answer may be
obvious, but its slipped my mind)?

#2 Is my car a "stolen" car (VIN being changed)???

#3 Is there anyone I could get ahold of to trace my
VIN???
