[Shotimes] Gen II fenderwell cladding piece installation

     I'm trying to install the aforementioned piece, the one that goes behind the rear door.  I ended up breaking off the white clip at the top (the plastic "welds" broke, so I'm thinking that epoxy would work fine to fix it).  Is there a trick to installing this piece that I'm overlooking?  The clip broke off when I tried to bend the piece enough to slide it over the clips at the bottom.  Should I have a helper hold the top against the body while I bend it to install the bottom?  Any better ideas?
