This is no joke. I actually discovered during a very embarassing
problem with my SHO. I went out to my car one morning, and when I
turned the key, I got nothing. No turning over at all. Everything lit
up, it wasn't a battery problem, so I (having absolutely no mechanical
knowledge at that point) had the car towed to a trusty mechanic. They
had the car for two days, and finally called me up saying "you won't
believe what the problem was". I was floored.
Luckily I took my car to this mechanic quite often, and since they knew
me well and wanted to keep my business, didn't charge me a penny!
I had apparently knocked this "thingy" loose by hitting it with my knee,
as I hadn't been screwing around in that area that I could remember.

This is a joke, right?
Just like the time I found my back seat was lined with flux capacitors
and gold doubloons.

I can't tell you. That's why it's called a SECRET!
Seriously, there's a little removable piece, under the steering column
(and a tad to the right). It has a male connector, is inserted into
(obviously) a female receptor (is that even a word?) and unless all the
pins make contact the ignition is disabled. Also, this piece has a
single button on it that activates the built-in mini-flashlight (useless
from what I can tell). The whole thing appears to want to be attached
to a keyring, for some reason.
I'm guessing it's an ATX-only thing, but I can't be sure.
