[Shotimes] A/C question

Of course it's possible to overfill or underfill by putting the whole
contents of one or more cans in. Avoiding that is the point of using
guages. Without them, you won't have a very clear picture of the
performance of the system. It may work well (if you hit it just right) or
it may work poorly or not at all. Without a guage reading, you might be
trying to stuff more R134 into an already charged system that has an
electrical or mechanical fault.

Yeah, theat's the basic procedure, all except the crossing of fingers and
some prayer.

Avoid turning the can upside down. While many do it, it is not good for the
compressor to have liquid refrigerant coming into the compressor.

Thanks, but I assume it's possible (probable?) to overfill with a whole
can...

Also, do I hook up the can, start the motor, turn the air on max - then open
the valve on the can?

Anything else?

Thanks again,

There is no correct procedure for topping off without guages.

You'll know it's done when the can is empty.
