I think he's referring to the fact that what is considered a 'tune up' costs well
over $1K if one has it done, and it might be done right, and then again it might
not, even by a 'selling' dealer.  Remember the Lowrider had its first timing belt
done for list price (+/- $500) by a dealer, and that wound up almost killing it.
So the engine is "exotic" if you compare it to a 5.0 l Ford V-8, or a Chev 5.7 l V8.
 It isn't if you compare it to a 350Z or BMW engine....just for example....there are
lots of other newer engines out there now.  Everything is relative.
Consider the effort and time needed to get to the water pump, or p/s pump.....
