Simply silver soldered a fitting into the side of the pan and screwed in the
sender. You have to be careful choosing a location to avoid interference
with the filter. There is a nice location on the rear side of the pan.
The solder was easier to use than welding due to the tight working space.
It has a 440 deg melting point (5% silver IIRC). If the oil temp ever gets
above 440 deg, I will have a lot bigger problem than just the fitting
falling off.

I assume you mean into the atx pan itself; how did you mount it and where?
