For heavy carbon deposits try oven cleaner. Make sure it is the caustic
type. Sodium Hydroxide on the label. It will etch polished Aluminum surfaces
so watch that. It's pretty cheap but only really works on the carbon and
does not seem to be much good on greasy crud. Combustion deposits are hard
and dry much like "Baked On" oven deposits and come off great!
