Definitely. The stock suspension barely has enough umph to keep the car performing smoothly in a
straight line under moderate conditions, IMHO. The wheel hop is generally a problem w/ worn
suspension on RWD cars, so it's not only the CVJs that cause the issue, but another problem with
FWD is the load lifting off the wheel. The wheel tries to "bounce" up and the OEM suspension in
some cases doesn't have enough load & dampening to prevent this. Another factor that effects the
hard acceleration is the rear suspension, mostly, on FWD cars as it must fight the weight shift
from the power and the motor tweaking backwards. This is why the firmer suspension upgrades get
rid of it, however you might still get it in wet conditions regardless. Poor SFB can cause wheel
bounce as well due to the subframe shifting (higher on one side and lower on the other), which
causes an imbalance in your suspensions performance. (the entire suspension system tweaks from
this) With my old '91, when i had installed my Delrin bushings, i lost most of the wheel hop w/
over 100k on the suspension! After installing SFCs and eibach/konis, the car never freaked out
under heavy acceleration.
Oh yeah, worn tires (or poor traction tires) will also add to such a issue, but most likely will
not be the main cause of such a "problem". (more or less a flaw of FWD)
