Symantec employees have probably been raking in the dough pretty well, so I
doubt they are driving 10-year-old SHOs anymore!! ;-)

Frankly, I don't really worry about surfing too much (but the firewall
covers that).

Her biggest threat is from worms and viruses spread by email.

Norton blocked outgoing email??? You have some "system issues" there, sir!!
Besides, it also doesn't have to be uninstalled, you can select whether you
want it to just do incoming mail, or incoming and outgoing.

Just to buy Norton AV is pretty cheap, and it gives you coverage for a year.
To renew it can be done online and isn't very expensive.

The problem with getting an older Norton AV disk back is that you will be
online for quite a while catching up all of the updates, plus you will
probably have to do a few restarts and new downloads to get caught up. Check
online for a deal on Norton AV.

On and off over the years of this list, there had been several Symantec
employees. Wonder what ever happened to them. If they are still lurking, I
wish they would speak up.

I am now back to Norton AV on this crap-top, but think that this is fat
enough that it slows everything... Would like to update the AWA's desktop,
but, one of the so called computer techs lost my purchased disk of Norton.

Wondering if this free stuff is good enough for the AWA, who rarely surfs,
but does need email for her MBA course work.

I and the AWA (to be obayed) thought that Norton AV was really bad, because
it blocked outgoing email. I unstalled it on her machine, so she could at
least send an email.

Would like to protect her machine from a virus, but don't know if the free
stuff is adequate, or if I should hammer on the so called computer tech for
the disk back?
