Yes, I have.  (They're the round, screw-in type.) And I haven't run the
compressor in a few months. 

I wonder if I dare try a 30A to see if the compressor would break loose?

Have you tried slow-blowing fuses?

They make special fuses for power tools.  I have to use them in my garage or
the table saw blows a fuse every time.

While we're talking tools...

My big Craftsman air compressor is blowing fuses in my home when I turn it
on.

It happens so fast I can't hear the compressor start to turn over.

I've tried it on two different 20A circuits.

Any suggestions (other than to drag it to Sears service)?
