Although in my experience if the fuse blows or the breaker trips 
immediately, that means there is a dead short somewhere.  If it was working 
fine before and hasn't been used in a few months, I'd check to see if the 
motor still spins without plugging it in.  It may have seized up over time 
(or some critter got in there and had its way with it).  In that case I'd 
haul it off to Sears to have it checked out.
