[Shotimes] Brake Pads revisited

Well, it's hard to judge from that. Different folks have different driving
styles, as well as different expectations from their pads. And if the pads
you have now are the best that you've ever had, you love them, even though
there may be better pads out there. I know "car people" (even SHO folks) who
are violently opposed to brake dust and brake noise, and will sacrifice
stopping ability to avoid those two issues.

Apart from the PF link I had in an earlier post, it seems that all of the
chain parts stores (AZ, Advance, etc) offer some sort of ceramic pad for
every vehicle. That alone tells me that they are soccer-mom pads.

Like anything else, some miniscule percentage of ceramic lets them call them
"ceramic" pads. The full ceramic brake setup on the GT2 911s are total
ceramic, and are an ~$20K (IIRC) option on any 911. These are "the real
deal".

Terri Huff ran them for a few years and MANY track sessions, not sure what
brand but I never heard one complaint and I know she was ordering more last
time I knew.

Actually I'll be interested in your observations, as my understanding is
that the ceramic pads are low noise, low-dust, low performance-type pads for
soccer-mom cars.

Not to be confused with the all-ceramic $20K+ brake setups (including
rotors) on Porsches and other cars.

I was just looking back over the SHOtimes pages on brakes and I noticed that
there was no reference made to ceramic brake pads.

Anyone have experience with these?

Just put on ceramics all the way around and haven't had time to form an
opinion yet.
