[Shotimes] muffler shops and flex pipe

Yes, any muffler shop like that. I have had great luck with Midas over the
years, but I go to the Muffler Man near my house. The brand doesn't matter,
it all comes down to how good the folks are at what they do at that
particular store.

Are you saying the Y-pipe is bad, or the flange on the catback? I just had
my catback pipe replaced, as the flange was cracked. If that's your case
also, they should be able to bend up a new catback pipe and put in a
resonator. FWIW, I got a complete new catback setup from the Y-pipe to the
mufflers (my mufflers were already almost-new Dynomaxes), including a
resonator, installed for $263.

Forget the true dual exhaust, your torque will go out the window for the
minor increase in high rpm power. The stock type 2-1-2 setup works just
fine. Some of the 500+ HP blower SHOs still run the 2-1-2 exhaust.

Ron,
When you say "muffler shop" do you mean midas or
mineke? That's all I have around here. The problem
with the donut seal is that my cats were held to the
exhaust pipe with rust. When I did the rod bearings,
that rust was lost forever. The next time I floored
it, the donut joint seperated. Now I have one of
those repair flanges on there, but there really isn't
a lot of metal left on the exhaust pipe flare to keep
it together. I guess I could get that part replaced.

I have grandiose ideas about a custom resonator so
that I can have a dual exhaust. As an engineering
project mostly.
Eric
