Assuming damage to the 3.0's rod/crank, I recommend putting in the 3.2 with
its heads.

Drill/tap a hole for the 3.0 coil, and hack saw off the casting boss
interference for the alternator. Leave the 3.2 oil pump in place (25 % more
flow) and make a cover to close the 3.0 timing belt cover to 3.2 pump gap.
Use the 3.0 timing belt drive system and water pump. Install the rod
nearings that you have. Replace the crank front & Rear seals. Install the
3.0 intake cams replacing the cam seals. Use the 3.0 exhaust manifolds &
intake (no EGR). Use the 3.0 injectors/runner, careful with the seals.

Freshen up the clutch while you're at it.

This is what my son did last winter. He likes the extra torque.

Ebay the 3.0 & 3.2 engine parts you don't want to keep.

The 3.0 block/heads make a nice glass top coffee table.

> What's up all?? Not much here, just trying to seek a little advice on my
93 mtx SHO. I was going to put in new rod bearings on Sunday, tore it all
down, only to find a spun rod bearing. : ( I was wondering what should I
do?? I found a 93 3.2 in a junkyard with 145k showing on the speedo, the man
wants $400 for it, but I am unsure of its condition. I can get a crank kit
for $250, then I will have to get a rod for it, buy the gaskets, and then
put it together. I could replace the rod bearings in the 3.2. maybe do the
lash adj., and then put it in the car. I have new std. 3.0 rod brgs., plugs,
wires, intake and v/c gaskets on my engine now, but one of the plug holes
may be cross threaded, but I put the plugs in anyway, before I discovered
the crank problem. Any and all advice will be GREATLY appreciated, I am
stuck and do not know which route I should take. Thanks again!
