Kerry,

You may be able to get away with the stock brakes if you really try.  I used
to think there was no way, but after buying a decent set of rotors and using
some good pointers to break them in properly, mine have lasted for quite
some time on my '93.

If you really want the upgrade, it's a nice way to spend the money.  The '96
brakes stop a Gen1/2 car better than they do a Gen3.  At least I felt this
way about the cars I've driven.

Mike at Midwest SHO www.midwestsho.com will sell you an entire kit.  Some
used parts, some new parts, for around $350-400 IIRC.
