[Shotimes] cutting vent holes in the header panel

It's just like the SHO community calling the '92-'95 cars Gen 2s, when they
are Gen 1s in Ford's eyes. Basic point is, you can call it whatever you
want, but it was not a piece that was specific to Police cars, it just
happened to be part of an option package that was included on Police cars.

I don't believe so, but you can bet that the cars in that
movie were NOT actual "police package" cars.
There never were hundreds of thousands of Taurus police
cars, like there have been caprice and Crown Vic cars that
are worn out and cheap and all over the place.
The Taurus cars in that movie were probably either provided
by Ford for the publicity, or all well used cars.
The actual "police" model kit has the car with the police
grill, but I think they do it with decals over the stock grill.
I have two different versions of the "robocop" Taurus model.
(same model, different box picture) and they don't show the
police grill.
And about what to call it. Even by Ron's standards, it is
no more wrong to call it the police grill than to call it
the towing package, taxi or heavy duty package grill.
He can call it anything, but the SHO community will forever
know it, and properly so, as the Police grill.
