Jim, lotta stuff in here. What year?
Are you getting any CE light coming on once the car is started?
About the cylinder lock, I think it's a common problem for that
sucker to wear out. I've been too lazy to replace mine as it's
definitely loose, and can get the chime to come on without the key
too. I just jiggle it a little to make it stop. No other problems.
About the battery and cables, take nothing for granted. You can do
a simple test of the battery by pulling the negative wire and seeing
if it sparks a little when you touch the cable to the terminal.
Make sure the connections are good and tight.
