I think its a common issue with these transmissions. I'm glad I'm not the 
only one with this problem,the hard shift from 1st to 2nd. Atleast its not 
slipping. LOL.

This issue was addressed a while back and it seems the answer was the 
computer controlled line pressure on these transmissions. They are very easy to fool. 
Step on it hard and then let off before the shift and WHAM into 2nd gear. 
Step on it hard and hold it there until it shifts and it shifts nicely. Atleast 
thats my story.
