At least SOME regular ATXs do this too.  The SLorider wagon, a '91 GL with 3.8, will
shift hard out of 1st if I don't keep an eye on it.  I don't like it to do
that...it's got 105,000 miles on its factory rebuild.  

It's not slipping, and when last serviced, looked good inside and in the pan.
