[Shotimes] Lets play a game what happened to my 3.0

Dave,

I'm by no means an expert in this field, and I think the advice you have already received from Ron, Leigh etc is probably right on. I want to give you a word of caution though since I've had similar problem which I didn't take care promptly and I may have done more damage because of my laziness.

My car has been smoking quite a while now (years). But only when flooring it. Several members on the list had theories about leakage through rings since I didn't experience the puff on startup which would indicate valve seals etc. I'm using 1 qt per 500 miles. But I also have some oil leaks. I'm gonna try the Auto-Rx treatment first after fixing some known oil leaks.

What I wanna tell you is to check the condition of your cats. If you're burning oil as much as you state that you are, I would be concerned about the condition of the cats. See, in my case I suspect that the oil burning may also have destroyed one of my cats. It's just rattling around inside the housing. I'm sure you know how dangerous that can be for the engine. I don't think, but don't know either, if damage has happened to my engine as an outcome of this, e.g., scratched cylinder walls and therefore burning oil even more? I'm looking into all this, but one step at time.
