[Shotimes] Officer has "tinted" attitude

  I was pulled over yesterday by a San Pablo "peace" officer for what he said 
was tinted windows.  My side windows were down and I wondered why he pulled 
me over to begin with.  San Pablo is a high-crime city and wasting time pulling 
over motorists for tinted windows that he can't even see because they were 
down is a contributing factor why the crime rate is so high.  After I showed him 
I was all legal, is when he asked me to roll up my window so that he could 
show me they were tinted!  Imagine that, a cop with X-ray vision. 
    I bought my 89 SHO from a California Highway Patrolman who tinted the 
windows himself. The rear and back door windows are alot darker than the 
driver/passenger doors  .. When I told the Officer this,  well,  this "know it all of 
the vehicle code" peace officer got offended and said, "that's the highway 
patrol".  Hmmmmmmm I wondered....Just who knows the VC better?.  I let him  
wallow in his moment of superiority and took the ticket.  Does anyone know the 
particulars on window tinting in California?
