John,

I have heard from several of the SHO experts that APE (Auto Performance
Engineering) is about the best and cheapest place to buy pumps. the fellow
responded with quick service and good prices when we needed one for Ken's
car recently.

Comes with everything you need, just buy a new filter and you are set.

YOu can get a fuel pressure gauge cheap at Autozone, I have one, I could
mail it to you if you want. In Ken's case the pump would come up to
pressure and then go back to near zero as a check valve in the pump was bad.
Would pump good as long as the car was running, but starting was hard. In
your case (NO start or almost no start) I would suspect maybe the wiring
near the pump. Since it did it at an autocross, you car putting some
twisting motion into the car body, and that could possibly rub some wires
wrong?

Did you ever just look in the oil filler cap hole? You can see a cam from
there easily, and if the belt is broken, NONE of the cams will turn. That
will answer that question. of course the belt could have jumped a few cogs,
but I would think it would still run, if not very good.

Also, check things like all the plugs or wires, especially the main bundle
going into the computer (check for wear where the ground bolt is on the back
passenger end of the intake is, this was a TSB on early SHO's like yours, it
can wear through the main wiring bundle!) Also check the wires going into
the coil pack. If they pull out a little it can stop the car cold. Been
known to happen.

Check any other connections you can get to. Take them apart carefully and
put back together to make sure you are getting a clean/solid connection.
Same with the connectors on either end of the DIS on the passenger end of
the intake.
