You chose the word shrewdly, "different".  That's certainly a driver  
convenience feature.  On the other hand, it's another switch to break and  another 
circuit to short.
 
Besides, you can re-use the paper clip to reset the remote-entry receiver  
if/when you need a new keyfob off ebay.  For SHO owners, it's a nice  generic 
kinda tool  ;-)
