I've discovered that one needs more flexibility in movement of the knuckle in order
to get the outer stub shaft out from behind it.  This is why I remove the strut. 
Rather than supporting the knuckle with the strut, I support it with the LCA.  The
ball joint is much more flexible and can move in multiple directions, rather than
just left or right as with the strut.
