[Shotimes] plug update and I am stupid

well, I found the perfect trans fill plug. (It's 1/2"
NPT, by the way). The one I found was brass with a
22mm hex head. The only problem is that a hex head
does not fit in the transmission because another bolt
in the trans case interferes with the head. While I
was at Pep Girls, I did notice another pipe plug with
a square head that would have worked but I did not buy
it. I don't like square heads but I guess it would
have been better than reinstalling what I had. For
now, I am reusing my old plug torqued to "barely
snug". I'll deal with it during the trans swap but if
anyone has any spares from a car they are parting,
please let me know..

The test drive went great except 6 blocks later I
smelled what I thought was burning clutch. It was
actually the parking brake. I managed to overheat the
driver's side rear pads so much they were still
smoking a few minutes ago even after a cool down run.
The rim has "browned" a little bit. In my defense, the
e-brake switch for the idiot light is not always
working. I've been used to driving a Buick for the
past few days so I didn't notice that I was down on
power so much. Even with the sudden drop in
temperature, the SHO felt really fast.

So now the parking brake is very difficult to engage
(stiff) but it still releases fine. I parked it in
gear with the brake off. Will things eventually
"settle" or do I need to readjust parking brake cables
or tear into my rear calipers yet again?

At least my vibration is gone and everything is
torqued to spec for once..
