The sound system in my 278,000 mile SHO is better than the one in my new house, with
Denon home theater components. It started out with Infinity Kappa III speakers, but
has graduated to Premier (upgraded version of Pioneer) multi-way speakers.....5.5
inch 3 ways in the front doors, and 6x9 inch 4 ways in the package tray. Get rid of
those stupid plastic speaker mounts and fasten the speakers to the metal package
tray base, working from the trunk. It sounds like a concert hall playing through a
pioneer deck and multi-disc changer. I have two Alpine amps, one 4 x 60 watt for
the corners, and one 200 watt for the 12 inch (still Infinity) subwoofer.
I get the speakers at a discount.....70 bucks for the pair of fronts, and 100 for
the pair of rears. They are as perfect (to me, naturally....very subjective
opinion) as they can be, especially for the price. They are in my '91 SLO wagon,
and will be in the replacement SHO when it starts it's home stretch preparations for
the road after the older one retires.
