WHAT?????????

Where do you get off on my taking it as a personal attack?? WTF was your
original post on this non-issue......it pretty much sounded like your VERY
PERSONAL opinion to me!!!! So now you are bitching to ME about making this
a "personal attack""????

Don, YOU are the self-righteous one who brought up this whole halftime thing
anyway!!!

I was "politely" trying to explain that, even though you are about my same
age, you are absolutely clueless as to what is happening in the pop culture
today. I feel that you react more as my father than someone my age......and
you are not on the same thought-wavelength as my other friends in their 50s
(like we are) who have children & grandchildren.

And yes, my nieces/nephews also watched the SuperBowl halftime show and it
is fine with me. In fact, they all did, and I heard NOTHING from their
parents (nor them) through our usual phone calls late on Sunday night and
today.

Basically, Don, my 80-year-old retired-Methodist minister father-in-law has
a better "take" on all this than you do, and you are out of touch with
today's world. I'm not saying that I expect you to LIKE what you saw, but
your reaction is your opinion.

Don.....READ MY POSTS.....tell me exactly WHERE I said that I "loved" the
"half-time junk" (your words). I didn't watch it all, but I don't care, and
yes I do defend it. FWIW, I was even MORE offended when they had that
worthless commie-socialist Bono and his washed-up U2 group on the SuperBowl
in the past. THAT was truly offensive.

You never did answer my question on the true rock groups I
mentioned.....most of which have been around between 30-40 years. I take it
that you don't know any of these groups that I mentioned. Explains why you
were "shocked" at seeing the halftime show, which has been representative of
pop culture for many years. Didn't say I liked it.....as I am still a true
hard rock fan.

As to your quote: "I'll take AKUS or the Chicago Symphony over rap or hip
hop any day. And if you want to
bet which will be more listened to in 20 years, I will be happy to take
that bet". Well, I have no clue who AKUS is, and have never heard the
Chicago Symphony....nor do I care. Saying that AKUS and the CSO will be more
listened-to in 20 years isn't saying much, as the groups I mentioned have
been viable for 30-40 years now and are still strong.

I'm NOT taking it personally, Don, just pointing out that you are looking
like a self-righteous moralist who is oblivious to what's going on in
popular culture today. I don't care if you like it or not.........but all of
this publicity about it will ensure that we will see more of the same going
forward......and I applaud that!!

Ron,

I guess I should have expected you would make a personal
thing out of this, when others are just giving opinion, but
you had to come out with guns blazing with exaggeration and
ill-informed guessing at what I think, do and know. You
could have just given your opinion, but no, you assume to
know me and what I am about, and you have to take personal
shots. NOTHING I said should have been in ANY way a personal
attack on you, Just why is it that you have to make it personal?

What about that half-time junk is it that you love? Do
you really feel the need to defend what they did? You must
really have loved that show to make a personal attack at me
over something that the vast majority of the media and
others on this list, agree was over the top in a very bad way.

You want this crap in front of your children/grandchildren,
then go ahead. And I don't have to be indignant at every
lousy bit that happens on letterman or everywhere, to be
indignant at this one. I have been pretty consistent in
this type of stand over the years. You, with your
self-professed insight into everything I supposedly know or
feel, should have known that! :)

As for being in or out of touch, You can like what you want,
and I will like what I want. YOu have no business presuming
anything on my part, and I won't speculate about you. It is
possible for someone to know what is going on and NOT like
some of it, after all, that is they way life is. Certainly
you have your likes and dislikes, but apparently nobody else
can have them, only you? I'll take AKUS or the Chicago
Symphony over rap or hip hop any day. And if you want to
bet which will be more listened to in 20 years, I will be
happy to take that bet.

You are amazing in your ability to zing so far past a point
you have no way to turn around. :)

Why must you always make everything such a personal attack?
Try just making your point once in a while, without making
it a personal vendetta, or taking it so personally.
