[Shotimes] Fw: !!PLEASE READ Y pipe warpspeed!!

Ok guys/girls
I talked to Dallas at Warpspeed performance. He is
interested in doing the Y pipe. Mike, do you still
have that spare stocker that I can grab free of
charge? (I am in no way trying to compete with any
header buy going on right now- I don't think that
anyone who wants a Y pipe would go for a header or
vise versa so I don't feel as if we are trampling on
anyone's toes)Warpspeed is willing to have fedex pick
up the pipe at your location and would need it for at
least 2 weeks so that they can make up a jig. They
also need underbody car pictures but I think that I
can handle that. Mike, if you can't spare the pipe can
anyone else? Any ATX owners want to send one out as
well? Kirk, got any spares to donate to the cause?

The good news. When Dallas saw that P+'s pipe is $525
he choked and said "holy shit, they don't have much
competition, do they?" He said that his comparable Tig
welded stainless Maxima Y pipe is around $200 cheaper
than P+'s SHO version (the two pipes are similar
although I don't know if that pipe has cats or not)

He is also going to start using metallic substrate
cats which are smaller, light off faster, flow a
little better and more importantly are a bit more
durable than standard cats (ie carsound, etc). I know
that many of us have suffered cat problems from
aftermarket pipes so this might be a nice solution.

What I need to know: based on what I have leard this
week, aftermarket hipo Y pipes for our car are
generally 2.25" and the factory is 2.00 correct? Is
this what we want? Do we also want equal length pipes
like the SHOshop pipe or do we want something like the
P+ pipe? They aren't going to copy anyone's design
verbatim; they are just going to use the OEM pipe as a
guide. Personally, I'd prefer a P+ type of design in
2.25" with the better cats and cheaper cost.

So far we have only discussed doing an MTX but ATX
wasn't out of the question. They would also like it if
someone could come down there on a weekend so that
they could do test fits and make up a second pipe.
They are in NW Arkansas, 3 hours from KC, 5.5 from
Dallas, 2 from Tulsa, 4 from OKC and 85 miles from
Springfield. This is it everyone; I think that this
will work out well.

If you are only on shotimes, I won't get the email

works maybe there can be a V8 Y pipe in the future
too.
